Job Summary

Leidos Airborne Solutions Australia is seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Avionics to join our team in Cairns. As a key member of our Airborne Solutions Engineering team, you will be responsible for performing aircraft maintenance and modifications, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and contributing to a safe and incident-free work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Aircraft Maintenance and Modifications: Perform routine and complex maintenance tasks on aircraft systems, including avionics, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.
  • Safety and Quality: Contribute to a culture of safety and quality, identifying and reporting potential hazards, and participating in safety programs and initiatives.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, maintenance, and operations, to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality.
Requirements
  • Australian Citizenship: Must be an Australian citizen or have the right to work in Australia.
  • Avionics Modification Experience: Proven experience in avionics modification and maintenance, with a strong understanding of aircraft systems and regulatory requirements.
  • Communication and Troubleshooting Skills: Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Time Management and Organizational Skills: Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Desirable Criteria
  • Line Maintenance and Heavy Maintenance Experience: Experience in both line maintenance and heavy maintenance, with a strong understanding of aircraft systems and regulatory requirements.
  • Cert IV Aeroskills - Mechanical: Hold a Certificate IV in Aeroskills - Mechanical, or equivalent.
  • Dash 8 Experience: Experience working on Dash 8 aircraft, with a strong understanding of their systems and regulatory requirements.
  • Confined Space Training: Hold confined space training certification.
  • Current First Aid Certificate: Hold a current first aid certificate.
  • Forklift License: Hold a forklift license.
