Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Career Opportunities Specialist to join our dynamic team in Mount Gambier. As an Employment Coach, you will work closely with participants to overcome career challenges, develop essential skills, and achieve their employment goals.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-to-one coaching sessions to participants, assessing their career needs, and creating personalised action plans.
  • Conducting career assessments and helping clients identify their strengths, interests, and values to guide their employment goals.
  • Collaborating with community organisations to create opportunities for participants and leveraging sales strategies to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Assisting participants in developing effective job search strategies, including resume writing and interview preparation.
  • Referring participants through training, counselling, and other services to increase long-term employment outcomes.
  • Maintaining compliance requirements and ensuring adherence to organisational policies and procedures.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in customer service, client-facing, or administration, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to conduct client assessments, develop case plans, and maintain accurate records.
  • Time management and organisational skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise, and meet deadlines while achieving desired outcomes.
  • Interpersonal conflict resolution and negotiation skills, with the ability to identify innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Ability to develop relationships with employers and relevant stakeholders to secure job opportunities for participants.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
