The role of a Recreation and Activities Coordinator is to develop, deliver, and assess specialized activity programs and social activities tailored to residents with diverse needs and interests.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Create and implement lifestyle programs and social calendars that cater to residents' preferences.
  • Establish goals, plan, organize, implement, and evaluate therapy programs for residents and community activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of assessments, therapy plans, evaluations, and activity programs.
  • Empower resident involvement in the development of stimulating and enjoyable activities.
  • Effectively manage leisure and lifestyle resources.
  • Lead and develop a small team of recreation and lifestyle officers and volunteers.
  • Foster relationships with community groups to build a network of support and social partners.
  • Develop a wide range of activities in consultation with residents and their family members.
  • Coordinate and utilize volunteers within the organization.

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**

  • Cert IV in Leisure and Lifestyle or Cert III in Individual Support (Aged Care) are desirable qualifications.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is highly regarded.
  • Highly developed organizational and time management skills are essential.
  • Experience leading a small team is preferred.
  • Ability to solve problems independently is crucial.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards, and Outcomes is required.
