Job Opportunity: IT Helpdesk Specialist

We are seeking an experienced IT Helpdesk Specialist to provide technical support for our retail environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for resolving hardware and software issues, configuring IT systems, and working with external service providers.

  • Provide remote and onsite technical support for POS systems, desktops, phones, and printers.
  • Troubleshoot network issues, including Internet connectivity.
  • Configure, deploy, and manage IT hardware, including in-store systems, Windows & Mac desktops & laptops, and mobile phone deployment.
  • Monitor and respond to IT support tickets and alerts on our company service desk platform.
  • Work with external service providers to resolve technical issues.
  • Administer users across multiple platforms.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to implement business initiatives.
  • Manage IT roll out for new store openings.
  • Perform data integrity checks for the retail environment.
  • Develop learning content and user guides for the team as required.
  • Create and maintain help desk procedural documentation and support.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position based in Sydney, NSW, Australia. The successful candidate will be required to work a standard 8-hour shift and must be available to commute or relocate before starting work.

Key Responsibilities:

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Technical Support: Provide remote and onsite technical support for POS systems, desktops, phones, and printers.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot network issues, including Internet connectivity.
  • IT Hardware Management: Configure, deploy, and manage IT hardware, including in-store systems, Windows & Mac desktops & laptops, and mobile phone deployment.
  • Service Desk Management: Monitor and respond to IT support tickets and alerts on our company service desk platform.
  • External Collaboration: Work with external service providers to resolve technical issues.
  • User Administration: Administer users across multiple platforms.
  • Business Initiative Implementation: Collaborate with the IT team to implement business initiatives.
  • Store Roll Out Management: Manage IT roll out for new store openings.
  • Data Integrity Checks: Perform data integrity checks for the retail environment.
  • Learning Content Development: Develop learning content and user guides for the team as required.
  • Documentation Maintenance: Create and maintain help desk procedural documentation and support.
Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • Minimum 2 years of help desk experience, with a focus on retail IT support.
  • IT certifications or relevant field.
  • Experience installing and configuring Windows (desktop & Server) and Mac O/S on physical and virtual devices.
  • Experience with basic admin tasks for Microsoft Active Directory / M365 / Exchange.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and using Microsoft productivity tools (Office 365).
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware & software technical issues.
  • Solution-focused and able to calmly resolve incidents.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Understanding of the pressures working in a customer-facing business requiring high-level and quick response.
  • Commitment to working quickly and effectively on a resolution.
