Senior Structural Design Professional

Ausenco, a fast-growing organization with extensive expertise in complex projects and challenging environments, seeks an experienced professional to lead structural design deliverables.

This role involves working closely with clients and project teams to ensure timely and budget-friendly outcomes.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the completion of structural design deliverables according to established standards, checking, approval, and issuance to other disciplines and clients with revision control documentation.
  • Leverage strong communication skills to lead and coordinate project team activities, ensuring achievement of time and budget objectives.
  • Develop and review technical documents and deliverables, focusing on accuracy and quality.
  • Prepare specifications, design criteria, scope of work, and material take-off lists, utilizing industry knowledge and best practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to prepare engineering proposals and monitor budgets, maintaining fiscal responsibility.
  • Operate with minimal supervision, prioritizing tasks to meet objectives of cost, quality, and time.
  • Maintain open communication with Project Manager/Engineering Manager, regularly updating them on technical activities, staffing, budgets, schedules, and explaining actions taken.
  • Contribute to the development of the Structural Engineering Team by applying knowledge of industry developments and experience to implement best practice technical solutions.
  • Effectively communicate with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions.
About You

You'll require a Bachelor's degree in structural engineering and 10+ years' proven technical experience with an engineering consulting firm or similar organization.

  • Accreditation as a Chartered Engineer (or equivalent) or ability to obtain.
  • Demonstrated experience in brownfield environment highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in client-facing project management roles, leading design teams to deliver project outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design of steel structures and concrete foundations for industrial and mining projects.
  • Enhanced knowledge of the Engineering ISO, AS, ANSI, API etc. standard design codes.
  • Ability to mentor and support the development of structural engineers within the Ausenco team.
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and as part of a multidisciplinary group.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
