Associate Director, Traction Power Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated technical leader to join our team in Victoria. As a key member of our high-performing organization, you will have the opportunity to work on a range of projects across the region, further developing your technical and business development skills.

Your scope of work will include feasibility studies, tender designs, problem-oriented projects, detailed design and construction support. You will also lead and support the review of testing & commissioning activities for HV and LV systems certification of test procedures and test lots.

This role will see you collaborating with other disciplines associated with delivery of railway projects, giving you wider exposure and understanding across small, medium and large-scale projects.

You will be responsible for mentoring and career development for other team members, taking lead and collaborating with other parties to produce project deliverables to agreed deadlines and standards.

  • Significant relevant professional experience in traction power and electrical engineering is required;
  • Exposure to existing or proposed freight and/or passenger railways is preferred;
  • Experience with testing & commissioning of underground railways is an advantage;
  • Strong analytical skills are essential;
  • Knowledge of traction power railway planning and design is necessary;
  • Understanding of earthing and bonding principles is beneficial;
  • Familiarity with different systems such as 25kV AC, 1500V DC, Heavy Rail & Light is desired;

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is highly advantageous;
  • CPEng (or equivalent) is highly desirable.
