Are you a medical professional seeking a new challenge? We have an exciting opportunity for a Psychiatrist to join the Australian Defence Force. In this role, you will be responsible for providing expert mental health care to serving members and veterans.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and review policies, procedures, and resources to support mental health prevention, detection, management, and treatment at various levels.
- Support the training and development of medical professionals in preventing, detecting, assessing, and managing mental illness within the ADF.
- Coordinate collaborative case meetings involving commanders responsible for the welfare of their subordinates.
- Oversee mental health support during critical incidents involving trauma to ADF personnel and civilians.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of the ADF mental health system through research and translation of findings into action.
In this role, you will work collaboratively with other clinical and non-clinical leaders across Navy, Army, Air Force, and civilian service providers. As a Medical Specialist Officer in the Royal Australian Army Medical Corps, you will be classed as a MML4 Medical Officer.

RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you must possess a strong background in psychiatry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You will also need to meet the necessary qualifications and experience requirements for a Medical Specialist Officer in the Royal Australian Army Medical Corps.
