About the Role

We are seeking a Clinical Lead to oversee the coordination and delivery of clinical services at headspace Canberra.

This position reports to the Service Manager and offers the opportunity to:

  • Provide complex clinical assessments and manage your own caseload of clients.
  • Offer guidance and support to a close-knit, multidisciplinary team.
  • Facilitate clinical and caseload reviews to ensure best practices.
  • Actively manage referrals and demand for clinical services, ensuring that young people are connected to the right services at the right time.

The role requires specific and thorough knowledge of clinical and community mental health approaches, as well as a comprehensive understanding of primary, secondary and tertiary mental health services and best practice guidelines.

You will be an integral member of a team that fosters a culture of inclusiveness, collaboration and support.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Current full AHPRA registration as a clinical psychologist, registered psychologist, mental health nurse (accredited with the ACMHN) occupational therapist (accredited with OTA as meeting the Australian Competency Standards for occupational therapists in mental health), or social worker (accredited with the AASW as a mental health social worker) and meet eligibility for a Medicare provider number.
  • Advanced clinical skills including clinical triage, assessment, delivery of evidence based, focused psychological therapies and support of young people at risk.
  • A strong understanding of the health and wellbeing needs of young people with mental health and/or substance use problems including ability to effectively engage with young people and their family, friends or carers.
  • Clinical supervision and leadership experience within a multidisciplinary team.
