About the Role

As a Mental Health Professional, you will play a vital role in promoting recovery and community integration for individuals with mental health issues. The role involves providing specialist social work interventions to support independent function and quality of life outcomes.

Your key responsibilities will include assessing and providing interventions to support consumer needs, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate consumer-centered care, participating in teaching, training, research, and quality activities, and providing supervision and mentoring to students and junior staff.

The role requires a commitment to consumer-centered practice, involving consumers and carers in decision-making and advocating on their behalf when necessary. You will need to possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to meet certain requirements:

  • A degree qualification in Social Work approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers is essential.
  • You must also demonstrate a commitment to and ability to practice using the recovery approach in mental health treatment and support.
  • Knowledge, skills, and experience in working with clients with mental health issues and their carers are highly valued.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team is critical.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills are required.
