Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Strategic Advisor to join our team in the Lord Mayor's Office. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced and complex environment, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

About the Role

In this role, you will:

  • Lead a dedicated team of strategic advisors and administrative support, ensuring the efficient and effective operations of the Lord Mayor's Office.
  • Proactively manage emerging concerns and issues, working closely with government agencies, community members, and specialist groups on complex political matters.
  • Identify opportunities for enhanced partnerships beneficial to the City of Melbourne, collaborating with our Executive and Management Leadership teams to align the LMO's priorities with the City's strategic direction.
  • Develop and implement new ways of working, leading operational effectiveness and managing departmental budgets.

Your Background and Experience

  • A proven track record of dealing with complex issues in a highly political and fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Experience in leading teams through periods of high intensity and change.
