Key Responsibilities
  1. Leadership and Operational Management: Provide leadership and operational management to the Occupational Therapy service, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery that is evidence-based and patient-centered.
  2. Resource Management: Be accountable and responsible for the effective management of human, financial, and material resources, ensuring customer service is maintained at optimal levels.
  3. Patient Care: Undertake direct patient care, providing high-quality and culturally appropriate occupational therapy assessments and treatments.
  4. Team Guidance and Support: Provide guidance and support to less experienced members of the team, promoting professional development and growth.
  5. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the Director of Allied Health and referrers to ensure a customer-focused quality service, aligned with the hospital's core values and relevant Code of Ethical Practice.
  6. Staff Supervision and Development: Establish a framework for and provide professional supervision to staff within the team, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  7. Quality Improvement: Work as part of the healthcare team, adhere to policies and procedures, and participate in working parties or committees as required, demonstrating a commitment to quality improvement through National Safety & Quality Healthcare Standards (NSQHS) and Workplace Health and Safety (WHS).
  8. Professional Development: Maintain a personal and professional development portfolio, with a commitment to ongoing learning and development, staying aware of advances in care and products/equipment relevant to the role and service.
