We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Writer to join our team at Auto & General. As a Senior Technical Writer, you will play a critical role in developing, editing, and managing internal technical documentation for our Technology department.
Key Responsibilities- Documentation Development: Develop, edit, and manage internal technical documentation for the Technology department, including guides, technical sheets, handover documents, and runbooks.
- Team Leadership: Direct a team of Technical Writers, work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to refine documentation quality, and create a new content structure.
- Content Consolidation: Organize and consolidate existing documentation into a new structure with stakeholder input.
- Process Improvement: Review and edit processes, policies, and documentation to ensure high-quality standards.
- Content Creation: Create and update documentation for technical solutions and applications, and simplify and consolidate existing content.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with SMEs to gather information, advise on content authoring best practices, and establish update periods to keep content current.
- Process Enhancement: Enhance documentation processes and explore automation options.
- Technical Writing Experience: Proven technical writing experience or related field with relevant training or certification.
- Atlassian Confluence and Jira Experience: Experience with Atlassian Confluence and Jira is preferred and will be prioritized over candidates with no experience.
- Analytical and Communication Skills: Detail-oriented and adaptable with a strong analytical mindset, and exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Project Management: Proven track record of managing documentation processes and projects.
- Organizational Skills: Skilled in organizing complex technical information from various sources.
- Training and Document Formatting: Demonstrated training and document formatting abilities.
- Procedure Creation: Experienced in creating procedures, manuals, and process flows.
- Time Management: Capable of working independently and managing tasks under tight deadlines.
- Stakeholder Management: Able to quickly build productive relationships with stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
- User Focus: User-focused with an ability to anticipate user concerns.
