Job Title: Technical Underwriting Manager Motor

Auto & General is seeking a highly skilled Technical Underwriting Manager Motor to join our team. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing underwriting guidelines, managing a team of technical underwriters, and providing subject matter expertise to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement underwriting guidelines for motor insurance products
  • Manage a team of technical underwriters to ensure accurate and timely underwriting decisions
  • Provide subject matter expertise to stakeholders on complex technical content, including underwriting guidelines, risk acceptability, and referrals
  • Conduct user acceptance testing of underwriting-related system changes
  • Regularly review and enhance existing underwriting guidelines to optimize business outcomes and customer experience
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of general insurance underwriting, product design, product/portfolio management, and/or claim experience
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, e.g., business administration, economics, commerce, law, finance, etc.
  • Track record of driving successful business performance
  • In-depth knowledge/understanding of short-tail insurance products, underwriting, and rating methods, systems, and procedures
  • Well-developed and demonstrated understanding of legislative, regulatory, and compliance obligations to operate in the insurance industry
