About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical R&D Engineer to join our team at Hexagon Mining, Inc. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the development of innovative products for the mining industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop product specifications against requirements
  • Scope product development work, timelines, and budget estimates
  • Design and develop 3D CAD models
  • Conduct research and development in areas such as vibration suppression, natural frequencies, and materials technology
  • Prototype testing and test methodology development
  • Engage with external manufacturing/design consultancies as needed
  • Product validation and testing from prototype to commercial product
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in product development for mining equipment, technology, and services (METS) companies or similar industry
  • Up-to-date fabrication and supplier network in Perth
  • 3D CAD modeling skills in SolidWorks
  • Passive acoustic vibration control/isolation design methodologies and test instrumentation
  • Stakeholder engagement at all levels in a business
  • Report and presentation creation with Microsoft Office suite
  • FEA simulation
Desirable Skills
  • Working knowledge of gyroscopic and accelerometer sensors
  • 3D printing (SLA & FDM)
