About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced R&D Tax Manager to join our team at BDO Australia. As a key member of our Research and Development team, you will be responsible for managing R&D tax claims for a range of clients from start-ups to multi-nationals across key industries.

Your primary focus will be to assist clients in obtaining and maximising the benefit from a range of incentives available to industry, including R&D tax incentives and other grants. You will work closely with clients to identify and scope eligible R&D activities and expenditure, and provide expert advice on government grants and tax incentives.

To succeed in this role, you will have a strong understanding of R&D tax laws and regulations, as well as excellent stakeholder management and relationship building skills. You will be able to manage and prioritise multiple projects and collaborate with the team to deliver results.

About You

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about R&D tax and has a strong technical background in STEM, Software Engineering, Commerce, or Law. You will have demonstrated experience in R&D, preferably in a Big 4 or Mid-tier environment, and excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

You will be able to synthesise and communicate complex technical concepts to internal and external stakeholders, and have a strong interest in innovation and a growth mindset. Experience with ATO and AusIndustry reviews and audits is highly regarded.
