About the Role

We're seeking a seasoned customer-facing leader to join our Account Management team in Australia. As a Strategic Account Management Lead, you'll be responsible for managing a team of Strategic Account Managers focused on retaining and growing Square's mid-market sellers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a distributed team of up to 8 Account Managers to achieve positive revenue outcomes and maintain a high return on investment.
  • Provide 1:1 coaching and performance management to your team members, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to succeed.
  • Serve as an escalation point for customer challenges, working closely with product teams to resolve issues and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Engage with product teams to serve as the customer voice for upmarket sellers, leveraging your experience working with executive internal stakeholders.
  • Create operational efficiencies through streamlined repeatable processes, fostering cross-functional collaboration through beta programs, co-marketing, and product insights.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in Business Development, Sales, or Account Management, with 3+ years of direct management experience in a high-growth technology company.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to internal senior stakeholders.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with product teams to serve as the voice of the customer, identifying opportunities and developing plans of action.
  • Ability to work in a globally distributed company, with flexibility to perform work outside of normal business hours.
