Job Summary

We are seeking a Transport Operations Manager to oversee daily fleet operations, ensure timely scheduling and allocation, and maintain excellent relationships with stakeholders, customers, and drivers.

This is a key role that requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to drive performance and excellence in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role
  1. Oversight of daily fleet operations, including scheduling and allocation to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
  2. Maintenance of excellent working relationships with all stakeholders, including customers, drivers, and internal teams.
  3. Effective communication with drivers and customers regarding planning, runs, and delays.
  4. Proactive assessment and enhancement of operational efficiency.
  5. Management and monitoring of payroll, driver performance, leave entitlements, and truck servicing.
  6. Loading planning and optimization through analytical skills and resource management.
  7. Identification of opportunities to improve current processes and revenue margins through P&L accountability.
Requirements
  • Prior experience in a similar Fleet Controller or Allocator role within the Transport and Logistics industry.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of OH&S, CoR & NHVR legislation.
  • SAP, MT DATA, WMS & TMS knowledge is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with good change management experience.
  • Ability to build strong relationships internal and externally.
