Regional Music Coordinator Position

This temporary opening is available for Expressions of Interest. Any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.

About the Role:

  • Leadership- Develop, articulate, and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Professional Supervision and Support- Provide professional supervision and support for Instrumental Music Teachers, manage overall performance, and provide advice to principals.
  • Resource Management- Manage staffing for the Instrumental Music Program, ensure departmental and music specific policies and procedures are developed and aligned with compliances.
  • Events- Contribute to policy making by participating in workshops, attending conferences, and analysing reports regarding school music.
  • Partnerships- Form partnerships with community groups, arts industry, and tertiary institutions to further the goals of the Instrumental Music Program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate music programs across primary and secondary schools.
  • Provide curriculum leadership, professional supervision, and support to Instrumental Music Teachers.
  • Manage resources, staff, and budget to achieve program goals.
  • Represent the department at events, meetings, and conferences.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be a permanent employee of the department with a substantive teaching or classified officer role.
  • Have current full registration as a teacher.
  • Aware that temporary internal moves for the purposes of the department's payroll processes are referred to as internal secondments.
