The role of a Registered Nurse at the correctional facility involves providing primary care to inmates in a patient-centred model. This includes active participation from patients in their health management and working closely with correctional staff to deliver holistic and integrated health services.
The key objective of this position is to support the medical management and healthcare of custodial patients through assessments and the creation, implementation, and management of patient health plans.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver primary care to inmates based on a patient-centred approach, ensuring patients are actively involved in their health management.
- Collaborate with correctional staff to provide comprehensive and integrated health services to inmates.
- Support the medical management and healthcare of custodial patients, including patient assessments and developing, implementing, and managing patient health plans.
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the relevant governing body.
- Minimum of 2 years' full-time post-graduate experience or part-time equivalent.
- Desirable experience in primary healthcare, rural healthcare, or emergency nursing.
