Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Process Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and monitoring the boiler station, ensuring sufficient levels of steam are driving the alternators which generate power for factory operations and external demands.

This is a dynamic role that requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a High Risk Work Licence for Turbine Operator (TO) and Advanced Boiler Operator (BA).

The successful candidate will be based at Pioneer Mill in North Queensland's Burdekin region, known for its landscapes, agricultural heritage, and a vibrant community. The region offers a lifestyle with a warm climate, beaches, and recreational activities.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and Monitor Boiler Station: Ensure smooth operation of the boiler station and monitor performance to maintain high levels of efficiency.
  • Provide Regular Feedback: Communicate regularly with Mill management on station performance and provide accurate feedback.
  • Achieve Competencies: Develop and achieve relevant sugar milling module competencies.
  • Collaborate with Team Members: Assist with the professional development of boiler assistants and work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Safety Focus: Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and adhere to all safety protocols.
Your Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • High Risk Work Licence: Hold a current High Risk Work Licence for Turbine Operator (TO) and Advanced Boiler Operator (BA).
  • Technical Skills: Possess strong technical skills, including knowledge of boiler systems and operations.
  • Communication Skills: Have excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with Mill management and team members.
  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in your work.
