About the Role

This position is a full-time opportunity within the Water and Sewer Operations team based at the Kianga Sewage Treatment Plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating water and sewer systems, implementing maintenance and asset renewal systems, constructing water and sewer infrastructure, coordinating and supervising tasks, and ensuring activities are carried out with safety, quality, and environmental considerations.

Key Responsibilities

- Operating water and sewer systems in accordance with established procedures and relevant licenses.
- Implementing maintenance and asset renewal systems for water supply reticulation and/or sewer collection and transport systems.
- Construction of water and sewer infrastructure in accordance with detailed designs and industry standards.
- Coordinating and supervising tasks of Water and Sewer Assistant Operators.
- Ensuring all activities are conducted with safety, quality, and environmental considerations.

Requirements

- Certificate III in Water Industry Operations or equivalent qualification.
- Experience working in water and/or sewer operations, maintenance, and/or construction.
- Good communication skills and demonstrated ability to supervise small teams.
- Proven word processing/spreadsheet/database operating skills.
