Principal Building Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structural Engineer to join our Buildings Team in Newcastle.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a talented individual to leverage their skills across a balance of technical work, project management, and client relationships within a large and well-established international consultancy.
- Structural design of buildings, inspections, assessments, and reporting will be key responsibilities.
- Collaboration with architects, project managers, building services, and civil engineers in multidisciplinary teams delivering iconic projects is expected.
- Project management and leading teams to ensure successful project delivery will be required.
- Working as part of a team on projects from conception through to final design and construction surveillance.
Key Requirements:
- A relevant university degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering is essential.
- 3- 6 years' industry experience as a Structural Engineer, with specific depth of experience in building design projects in a consulting environment is required.
- A broad range of skills utilised across various types of buildings and materials is necessary.
- Membership of Engineers Australia and working towards CPEng and NER registration is desirable.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Australian Building Codes and Standards is required.
- Ability and willingness to mentor junior engineers is essential.
