Position Overview:
The Program Management Officer will engage in a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth and effective operation of the Department's initiatives. This position is accountable for the creation, organization, and upkeep of superior program documentation, which encompasses reporting and planning materials, briefings, decision-making documents, and presentations. The role will extend senior-level assistance in the administration of Program planning, which includes facilitating the organization and coordination of events such as planning sessions, showcases, and retrospectives.
The Program Management Officer will possess exceptional relationship management abilities, fostering and sustaining constructive working relationships.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in large-scale ICT projects or programs, utilizing Agile methodologies.
- Demonstrated capability to manage competing priorities effectively, maintaining composure under pressure and adapting to change and uncertainty.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Meticulous attention to detail and experience in quality assurance processes (writing, editing, proofreading) for substantial volumes of correspondence, briefs, presentations, and reports.
- Strong collaborative skills, with the ability to work alongside colleagues to achieve collective goals.
- Confidence and proficiency in communicating, collaborating, and negotiating with team members, business units, and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
- Analytical and investigative skills, capable of gathering information from various sources, exploring innovative ideas, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, and recognizing critical gaps.
- Demonstrated ability to make sensitive and complex decisions using professional judgment within legislative frameworks and delegated authority.
Contract Details: This position is based in Canberra with a contract duration of 12 months, subject to budget and delegate approval for extensions.
Security Clearance: Applicants must be Australian Citizens and will require a baseline security clearance.
