Job Title: Parks Maintenance Officer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill this critical role in maintaining our beautiful parks and gardens.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a range of parks and gardens using horticultural skills and experience in grass maintenance, weed management, garden bed maintenance and planting, irrigation and pest and disease control.
  • Operate and maintain horticultural plant and equipment including ride-on mowers, tractors, small plant and pesticide spraying equipment.
  • Work cooperatively with team members, stakeholders and contractors.
  • Work to the highest levels of safety and presentation to improve the amenity for our community.

Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Horticulture (Parks and Gardens) or substantial relevant experience.
  • Sound horticultural knowledge and skills including plant and weed identification.
  • Experience in the use and basic maintenance of grass cutting plant and equipment, such as ride-on mowers, hand mowers, brush cutters, hedgers and edgers.
  • Commitment to occupational health and safety and quality control processes.
  • Able to work to agreed targets within a team environment.
  • Able to accurately record and report on daily work programs.
  • Good customer service and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Medium Rigid Truck license (manual) or must be willing to obtain within 3 months of employment.
  • Working with Childrens Check.
  • Satisfactory National Police Check.
