**Business Development Manager

At Capricorn, we are committed to empowering our community to thrive. Our business development managers play a vital role in this process by developing business with our existing members and preferred suppliers, as well as establishing new business within a designated sales territory.

Our business development managers work from their own home office, travelling to meet members and suppliers is key to this role and as such regular travel to rural areas away from home will be necessary based on the sales territory.

Key responsibilities of a business development manager include:

  • Developing strategies to increase membership growth and profitable membership sales;
  • Executing tactics in line with strategy and delivering on business plans to increase membership growth;
  • Maintaining an up-to-date understanding of local market trends and economic conditions;
  • Developing a strong network of key contacts and associates;
  • Actively interacting with suppliers to build relationships that provide opportunities to grow sales;
  • Proven sales and/or relationship management experience with strong business and commercial acumen;
  • Highly driven and self-motivated;
  • Ability to work autonomously;
  • Relationship building and/or territory management;
  • A passion for the automotive industry and experience in this field;
  • Able to demonstrate sound verbal and written communication skills and the ability to converse at all levels within the organisation;
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of interpersonal and customer relation skills;
  • Intermediate skill in the use of Microsoft Office Software Suite.
