Job Overview
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Technical Writer - Cyber Threat Expert to join our client in Canberra, ACT. This is a challenging role that requires expertise in researching, developing, reviewing and publishing cyber security guidance and technical advice.
Estimated Salary: AU$90,000 - AU$110,000 per annum
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support technical publications through research, scoping, technical consultation, review and publishing phases.
- Produce novel and unique advice on contemporary cyber security issues by coordinating and providing assistance.
- Research emerging technology and apply contemporary knowledge to identify information gaps, cyber security trends, vulnerabilities and threats, then develop actionable mitigation strategies.
- Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Provide urgent or ad-hoc support for enterprise tasks such as section governance, briefing facilitation, publication clearance, actioning senior executive requests, document review and parliamentary reporting requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field, e.g., computer science, computer forensics, information security, IT, cloud computing, machine learning or cyber security.
- At least 5 years' experience in cyber security.
- Strong leadership experience and ability to engage with stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Project management experience (desirable).
Contract Terms:
This role is an 8-month contract with the option of two 12-month extensions. To be eligible, candidates must hold an active Baseline clearance and undergo pre-employment checks including ID verification, work rights, security clearance verification and other requested checks.
