Job Overview
Speech and Language Pathologist Leader RoleThis is a senior leadership position within our department, responsible for leading a team of speech and language pathologists to provide professional advice and clinical services to support students and families.
The role involves diagnosing and reporting on communication and swallowing disorders, and organising and implementing treatment for children from birth to year 12. The successful candidate will have experience in speech pathology and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children and young people with diverse needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading a team of speech and language pathologists to provide professional advice and clinical services to support students and families
- Diagnosing and reporting on communication and swallowing disorders, and organising and implementing treatment for children from birth to year 12
- Providing leadership on complex clinical cases, professional learning, recruitment, service allocation and inter-agency liaison
Essential Requirements:
- Accreditation by Speech Pathology Australia and membership of the Australian Psychological Society
- High-level skills of self-direction, initiative and flexibility, with the ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary support team
- Ability to work with vulnerable populations
