Role Overview

The Fire Protection Team Lead position offers a unique opportunity to lead the design and delivery of building services projects across various sectors, including commercial, healthcare, education, and residential.

As a senior professional, you will be responsible for taking ownership of project outcomes, providing strategic technical guidance, and ensuring delivery to high-quality standards. Additionally, you will mentor junior engineers, build strong client relationships, and contribute to the strategic growth of the Melbourne Fire Protection team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and delivery of building services projects across multiple sectors.
  • Take ownership of project outcomes and provide strategic technical guidance.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers, build strong client relationships, and contribute to the strategic growth of the Melbourne Fire Protection team.
About You
  • You bring 10+ years' experience in fire protection design within building services, with a proven track record leading projects and teams.
  • You have deep technical expertise in fire systems, including wet and dry fire, detection and alarm, and smoke hazard management.
  • You've successfully delivered medium-to-large scale projects across sectors such as healthcare, education, commercial, data centres, or residential.
  • You're passionate about mentoring and developing others, with experience in team leadership or people management.
  • You're known for your client-facing skills, ability to build trust, and commitment to delivering innovative and sustainable solutions.
  • You hold a relevant tertiary qualification and are registered (or eligible for registration) as a professional engineer in VIC.
