
Senior Fire Protection Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Field Technician to join our service team at Mechfield FM.
As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for carrying out routine and reactive servicing, testing, inspections, and repairs of fire protection systems across commercial buildings.
Key duties include performing scheduled maintenance, testing, upgrades, and installation of dry fire safety systems; diagnosing faults and carrying out minor repairs; accurately completing service reports and logging all work using Uptick service management software; ensuring all work complies with relevant standards (AS1851), BCA, and site-specific requirements; communicating professionally with clients, site contacts, and internal teams.
You will work in accordance with Occupancy Permits, Australian Standards (AS1851), and the Building Code of Australia (BCA). We offer a collaborative and growing service team environment, where you can apply your skills and experience to drive operational excellence.
- Previous experience in fire protection servicing, building maintenance, or a related technical trade;
- Familiarity with fire system compliance standards, including AS1851;
- An Electrical License (desirable) and/or Gas Handling license (desirable but not required);
- Relevant fire industry qualifications (e.g., FPAS accredited) or a willingness to obtain them;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and time management skills;

Required Skills and Qualifications:Prospective candidates must have previous experience in fire protection servicing, building maintenance, or a related technical trade. Familiarity with fire system compliance standards, including AS1851, is also essential. An Electrical License and/or Gas Handling license may be desirable but is not required.
Candidates should also possess relevant fire industry qualifications or be willing to obtain them. Strong communication, time management, and teamwork skills are essential for success in this role.
