We are growing our Azure Data & AI team and looking for experienced Technical Specialists to join our agile and diverse team in Data Platform (Azure SQL, Azure Data Lake Gen2, Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, Microsoft Fabric) and AI technologies (Azure OpenAI Services, Azure Cognitive Services, Azure Machine Learning).

The primary objective of this role is to win technical decisions from customers to purchase and utilize Microsoft technology and cloud services, covering both Relational and Non-Relational scenarios. This includes expertise in Azure SQL, Open-source databases, Azure Analytics platform including Azure Cosmos DB and Microsoft Fabric, as well as the entire Azure AI Platform - Azure Machine Learning plus Azure OpenAI. The Technical Specialist will collaborate with customers' technical evaluators and decision-makers to make informed decisions and identify new opportunities for sales specialists to pursue.

This position involves working within a virtual team of technical, partner, and consulting resources to educate customers at a technical level, demonstrate solutions, and prove their effectiveness, ultimately allowing the team to achieve or exceed quarterly sales targets in assigned accounts. As part of this team, you will have the opportunity to develop and maintain deep technical expertise across Microsoft and non-Microsoft cloud-based technologies, accelerating your career growth while honing solution sales and collaboration skills.

To succeed in this role, you should possess a strong foundation in technical pre-sales or consulting experience, ideally 5+ years, with a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, and/or certification in relevant technologies or disciplines. Proficiency in cloud and hybrid infrastructures, architecture designs, migrations, industry standards, and technology management is also essential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Engaging with customers proactively and independently to build credibility and establish rules of engagement for extended teams.
  • Leveraging foundational knowledge of resources and engaging product teams to remediate blockers by conveying impact.
  • Partnering with the ecosystem to facilitate sell-with scenarios, identifying skill and resource gaps, and providing feedback to internal teams.
  • Capturing core competitive knowledge and delivering it back to product and engineering teams to enhance team capabilities and develop compete strategies.
  • Working with account and marketing teams to shape strategic win and customer success plans.
