Job Title:

Youth Worker/Team Member

This is a vital role in supporting Children and Young People living in Residential Out-of-Home Care at our therapeutic, rural properties.

As a Team Member, you'll play a pivotal part in providing hands-on support in teaching life skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, completing homework, personal care, booking and attending appointments, participating in sports, and engaging in schooling.

  • Teach and provide guidance on essential life skills including time management, organisation, and goal setting
  • Assess and develop individualised plans to support the developmental progress of our Young People
  • Liaise with and report to relevant stakeholders to share information, contribute to planning, and ensure desired outcomes are achieved
  • Develop and implement activity plans and facilitate community engagement for the Young Person
  • Ensure safe and supportive environments using Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) techniques
Requirements:
  • Australian Driver's Licence (must be Open or P2)
  • Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or equivalent (or actively working towards it)
  • Availability for shift work, including weekdays, weekends, and sleepovers as scheduled
  • Approved Licensed Care Service (LSC) check through the department, or ability to obtain one
  • Current Paid Blue Card or willingness to obtain one
  • First Aid and CPR certificates, or willingness to obtain them
  • Flexibility to meet the needs of the organisation
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure to meet specific deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including documentation, organisation, and reporting
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite
