About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our commercial lending team in Sydney and take on a key leadership role.

You will be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of commercial lending relationships, driving growth, and delivering exceptional results.

Your primary objective will be to develop strong relationships with clients and brokers, providing tailored solutions that meet their needs and achieve business success.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless processes from origination to settlement, ensuring operational excellence throughout.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have excellent relationship-building skills, a commercial mindset, and a deep understanding of commercial lending principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a high-quality commercial lending portfolio, focusing on engagement, retention, and proactive credit reviews.
  • Develop new commercial lending opportunities, working closely with the Commercial Broker sales team to drive growth.
  • Prepare compelling credit submissions, ensuring deals meet our underwriting standards.
  • Serve as the primary relationship contact, guiding clients through the lending lifecycle and broader banking needs.
  • Foster operational excellence, ensuring efficient processes from documentation to settlement.
Requirements

To excel in this role, you will need to have:

  • A minimum of 5-10 years' experience in commercial lending, business banking, or portfolio management.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess, structure, and write commercial credit deals.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, including communication and negotiation expertise.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including credit submission experience.
  • A commercial mindset with a balanced approach to risk and opportunity.
