About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Privacy Compliance Manager to join our Legal team at carsales. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the company's compliance with privacy laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement privacy policies, procedures, and training programs to ensure compliance with Australian privacy laws.
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments and report on risks to ensure the company's data protection practices are robust.
  • Support the implementation of a data scanning and consent management tool to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Support the legal team in investigating and responding to privacy incidents.
  • Work closely with a group of Privacy Champions across the business to ensure a culture of data protection.
  • Stay up to date with privacy laws and regulations, including proposed reforms to the Australian Privacy Act.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated inclusive and interpersonal attributes that connect you to our behaviours.
  • Strong experience in a privacy-focused role, with a sound knowledge of proposed upcoming Australian Privacy Act reforms.
  • Ability to create privacy training material and communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with data mapping tools or consent management platforms, international jurisdictions, and technology businesses viewed favourably.
