Demi Chef Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the position of Demi Chef in our kitchen team.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about food preparation and presentation, as well as delivering quality cuisine with a flair.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the chef in charge to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen, maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
  • Prepare mise en place for all relevant menus, ensuring consistency and efficiency in food production.
  • Ensure that all dishes are prepared consistently and according to standard, meeting the expectations of our discerning guests.
  • Manage stock rotation and minimize wastage, while assisting with ordering necessary food items to maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Comply with all relevant legislation and regulations, including WHS and food safety requirements.
  • Provide exceptional service to our guests, ensuring their feedback is actioned and communicated to the team effectively.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 1 year's work experience as a DemiChef in a hotel or restaurant with high food quality standards.
  • The ability to operate various kitchen equipment and practice sound cooking techniques, demonstrating creativity and innovation in menu development.
  • Completion of a Chef Apprenticeship or Certificate in commercial cookery, showcasing expertise in food preparation and presentation.
  • Strong knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices, including safe and accurate knife skills, to maintain a clean and healthy working environment.
  • Experience in a variety of different cooking methods, including traditional and modern techniques, to deliver consistent results and exceed guest expectations.
  • Availability to work varied shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and public holidays, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • The ability to work autonomously as well as within a team, promoting collaboration and open communication.
