St. Basil's Homes is an activity of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia, established to provide care and lifestyle options to ageing Australians. With locations across Sydney and a community care program, we strive to deliver exceptional support.
About the Role:
This role involves working with the People, Engagement and Culture team to coordinate our volunteers program. You will provide professional advice and expertise, implementing best practices and coaching staff to achieve our goals.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and maintain a volunteer database, ensuring accurate records of availability and attendance.
- Sourcing volunteers, conducting interviews, and managing their onboarding experience.
- Inducting volunteers and facilitating orientation programs.
- Volunteer Leadership:
- Act as the key point of contact for volunteers, providing ongoing support and guidance.
- Monitor and ensure mandatory training is completed by volunteers.
- Supporting recognition events and debriefing with volunteers.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records and perform integrity checks.
- Accurate and timely collation of data for monthly board reporting.
- Supporting Our Business:
- Build effective communication with managers to assess volunteer program needs.
- Work with the internal marketing team to identify and promote volunteer opportunities.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- 2 years' experience in coordinating volunteers.
- Collaborative approach and ability to interact with volunteers, staff, and stakeholders.
- Interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with volunteers.
- Flexibility and adaptability to accommodate volunteer availability.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Intermediate to advanced MS Suite skills.
- Proactive and self-driven, capable of taking initiative.
- Current driver's license and own car transportation.
