You'll be part of a dedicated team at Queensland Rail, working on maintaining and servicing the equipment of the heritage-listed Kuranda Scenic Railway. As a Telecommunications Technician, you'll install, maintain and repair telecommunications and electronic equipment in our close-knit team.

About the Role
  • Install, maintain and repair telecommunication and electronic equipment
  • Maintain records and associated documentation
  • Report on actual work performed against the scheduled maintenance program
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Workplace Health and Safety requirements
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with technical and operational specifications

In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to travel along the scenic route from Normanton to Cardwell, contributing to the reliable and timely performance of our rail services. You'll also collaborate with technicians, electricians, and mechanical staff to ensure the smooth operation of both freight and passenger services.

About You
  • Sound skills in the installation, maintenance and fault rectification of telecommunications equipment and systems
  • Driver's License
  • Electronics Trade Certificate (similar qualifications in electronics considered)
  • Must have capacity to travel and work within regional Queensland
  • Must have the flexibility to work some overtime and weekends when required
What We Offer

A base salary between $81,000 - $101,000 + penalties + generous allowances + 12.75% superannuation (dependant on qualifications & experience). A 9 day fortnight roster including Monday to Friday or Monday to Thursday, offering a three-day weekend every second week. Paid training and support to develop your experience. All personal protective equipment (PPE) and uniform supplied. A strong focus on safety, where we 'work safe' every day to ensure everyone goes 'home safe.'
