Electrical Design Engineer

We are seeking dedicated Electrical Design Engineers to join our growing Substation team.

  • This role involves designing substation primary engineering for electrical substation projects up to a voltage of 500kV.
  • The ideal candidate will be able to identify relevant standards and local customer requirements, ensuring compliance with National / International Standards and contract specifications.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills are essential for this role, as is the ability to develop different solutions as part of the design optimisation process.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing substation design calculations, including earthing design, busbar sizing, SC force calculations, lightning protection, battery sizing, cable sizing, circuit breaker selection, and transformer sizing.
  • A Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field is required for this role.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in Foundations, ideally in Substations, is also necessary.
  • Geotechnical Interpretation skills are highly valued in this position.
  • The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of latest local standards & IEC/IEEE/ANSI standards, as well as proficiency with software tools such as AutoCAD, ETAP, etc.
