The Supplier Quality Engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring that suppliers consistently meet high-quality standards in manufacturing and production processes.
This involves combining technical expertise with strategic oversight to guarantee that every component and product provided by suppliers conforms to the company's stringent requirements.
- Ensure quality of materials meets customer requirements through proactive quality assurance, continuous improvement, and strong supplier relationships.
- Develop quality control processes with suppliers, conduct audits, and implement improvement plans.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align supplier quality with company objectives.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on supplier quality performance.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field (Mechanical or Electrical).
- M.B.A. or advanced technical degrees (strongly preferred).
- Quality Management degree or experience is highly desirable.
- 3-5 years of experience in supplier quality engineering or similar role.
- Proficiency in quality management tools (Six Sigma, FMEA, SPC, root cause analysis).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Quality certifications (Certified Quality Engineer or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt).
- Strong PC skills (Excel, PP, Word, Access, Minitab).
- Demonstrated ability to influence teams and programs regarding quality, productivity, and/or customer service.
- Ability to work on multiple projects with limited direction.
- Understanding of manufacturing operations.
