Clearcompany is a commercial construction business seeking a skilled Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) professional to join their team in Canberra.

About the Role

This pivotal position involves overseeing Work Health and Safety (WHS) systems, ensuring legislative compliance, and collaborating closely with site teams to implement best practices across live projects.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead WHS functions across multiple construction projects, driving proactive safety cultures.
  • Review and maintain WHS management systems, procedures, and documentation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and incident investigations, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Deliver toolbox talks, safety inductions, and ongoing training to site teams, enhancing their knowledge and skills.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, ensuring all legislative requirements are met, and provide proactive support and coaching to project and site teams.
  • Continuously drive improvement in WHS performance and culture, promoting a safety-first approach.
To Be Successful
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar WHS or HSE role in commercial construction - Tier 2 construction background preferred.
  • Diploma in WHS (or higher qualification), demonstrating expertise in the field.
  • Proven experience implementing and managing WHS systems and procedures, showcasing leadership skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, enabling effective collaboration.
  • Ability to influence, lead, and promote a proactive safety-first culture, embedding it within the organization.
  • Construction white card and current driver's license, essential for site visits.

This is a full-time permanent opportunity based in Canberra, requiring regular site visits and travel.
