Stocktake Assistant

We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Stocktake Assistants.

This role provides support across all business units around the Hunter Region.

Your primary responsibility will be to conduct stock counts at various locations, physically counting each item and entering data into a handheld scanning device.

The workday generally passes quickly, but you will be on your feet for most of the day.

The casual role involves work commencing at 6:00 AM from Monday to Thursday with occasional Fridays.

The approximate weekly hours are 12 hours per week.

The team works approximately 46 weeks per year with no stocktakes in the lead up to Christmas and the week either side of Easter.

During these periods, there may be opportunities to source work within supermarkets.

The role offers a highly competitive remuneration package including kilometre and travel time allowances, superannuation and staff discount card.

The finishing time for the inventory count is flexible and will depend on the store's size.

You will have the opportunity to travel throughout the (Hunter, Mid North Coast and Central Coast) region visiting our regional centres.

This will involve being away from home for approximately 6 nights per month.

During this time, you will enjoy comfortable twin share accommodation with breakfasts and dinners supplied, as well as coach driven transport and a supportive team environment.

Please note that you must possess a vehicle and current licence to transport yourself within the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie Region area.

, Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurate counting of stock in accordance with company specified guidelines, time frames and targets.
  • Working cooperatively in an engaging and productive team environment.
  • Abiding by company policies and procedures in relation to Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) and Food Safety to ensure a safe working environment for customers, team members and contractors.
To Be Considered For This Role You Need To:
  • Demonstrate competent written and verbal communication skills with a sound mathematical ability.
  • Hold a current driver's license and have access to your own vehicle.
  • Maintain a reliable attendance record and strong work ethic.
  • Perform repetitive tasks.
  • Portray a positive attitude.
  • Abide by company policies and procedures at all times including the standard of dress.
  • Be available to work a flexible casual schedule from Monday to Friday.
  • Be able to periodically travel on trips away for up to four nights, staying in twin share accommodation at the expense of the company.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and team members.
  • Work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Required to undergo a pre-employment physical check.
