About the Opportunity:

This role will play a key part as trusted legal advisor to various aspects of the business, including commercial, finance, projects, operations, exploration, native title, and human resources.

  1. Advise on legal matters to mitigate risk and protect interests.
  2. Negotiate and draft contracts for procurement, project management, mining services, toll treating, banking facility, and confidentiality agreements.
  3. Provide strategic advice on commercial, contractual, and corporations law matters.
  4. Collaborate with senior management and advise on high-impact projects.
  5. Manage corporate governance matters related to listing on multiple stock exchanges.
  6. Effectively manage legal disputes and claims within set timeframes.
Qualifications and Key Skills
  • A minimum of 5 years of post-admission experience in the mining or construction sector.
  • Bachelor's degree in law and current practising certificate.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex concepts to non-lawyers.
  • A collaborative approach to influence and educate across all levels.
  • Critical thinking and sound judgment in resolving complex matters.
  • Exceptional organisational skills to prioritise tasks effectively.
About You:

We are seeking a lawyer with expertise in commercial, contractual, and corporations law. As our Senior Legal Counsel, you will play a pivotal role in advising our business units and protecting our interests.

You will have a strong background in the mining or construction sector and excellent communication skills to convey complex concepts to non-lawyers. Your ability to think critically and make sound judgments will be essential in resolving complex matters.
