Our team is seeking a seasoned cyber security professional to support critical government operations.This role involves real-time monitoring, thorough investigation and swift response to security incidents across secure environments.Australian citizens with a NV1 clearance are highly desirable for this position.Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize Splunk and vulnerability scanners to monitor and investigate security incidents.
  • Analyse security event data to identify suspicious or malicious activity, ensuring prompt escalation when necessary.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and management to investigate complex incidents.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining Information Security Manual (ISM) controls to ensure optimal security posture.
  • Support initiatives to achieve and maintain Essential Eight maturity levels, driving compliance with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).
  • Manage compliance with PSPF and other government obligations, maintaining accurate security documentation and incident response procedures.
  • Provide expert cyber security advice across network, video conferencing, server, and desktop environments.
  • Stay informed on emerging threats, implementing proactive security enhancements to safeguard sensitive information.
  • Develop strong relationships with stakeholders, sharing knowledge to enhance team capability.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Experience in a Security or Network Operations Centre role, with a proven track record of success.
  • In-depth knowledge of ISM controls and government compliance requirements, with the ability to interpret logs, alerts, and threat intelligence for incident response.
  • Familiarity with SIEM, endpoint protection, and vulnerability scanning tools, as well as industry certifications (e.g. CompTIA Security+, CCNA CyberOps, Fortinet NSE).
  • Qualifications or certifications in networking or video conferencing technologies (e.g. CISM, IRAP, CCNA, JNCIA, CompTIA Network+).
Australian Citizens with a NV1 clearance are highly desirable for this role.
