Maintenance Technician - Metro Melbourne
Job Description:
Wintringham is a not-for-profit organisation providing high-quality care, housing and services to older people at risk or experiencing homelessness. We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our Asset Services team in Metro Melbourne.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in maintenance or facilities management, with strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently. The role involves undertaking programmed and general maintenance tasks, including reactive and planned activities such as door adjustments, lamp replacement, basic carpentry, plumbing, painting and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake a diverse range of general maintenance tasks to buildings and equipment
- Complete preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled and in accordance with relevant task outlines
- Actively assist with Essential Services compliance, including monitoring contractor service frequency
- Engage and coordinate contractors for specific tasks as required
- Ensure Work Orders and CMMS are updated with essential & relevant information

Requirements:
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience in maintenance or facility management
- Strong organisational skills to plan and manage work tasks
- Competent manual skills in various building trades
- Knowledge of basic building construction methods and building materials
- Competency to safely use and maintain hand tools, power tools, and garden equipment
- Physical capacity to perform a wide range of manual tasks
- Current Victorian drivers licence
- Strong computer literacy skills
- Strong communication, both written and verbal, skills
- Commitment to safety and continuous improvement
- Non-judgemental attitude and ability to liaise with people from varying backgrounds
Work Environment:
This is a Full-Time Ongoing position based in Metro Melbourne, VIC. You will be working in a safe and secure environment, with access to all necessary resources and training to support your success.
