
Care Coordinator

The Australian Childhood Foundation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Leader to join their Perth office for a full-time ongoing role. This position will play a key role in ensuring positive outcomes for the children and young people in the program and leading a service that elevates the voice and needs of children, young people and their foster carers.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Provide effective support and supervision to a team of Care Coordinators and Therapeutic Specialists in the OOHC program.
- Work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders to promote the therapeutic needs of children and young people.
- Provide clinical leadership and direction regarding therapeutic assessment, intervention, and service system responses.
- Develop and deliver high-quality therapeutic programs, including consultation, training, support and strategic advice to carers, non-government and government staff caring for or working with children and young people in out of home care.
- Implement quality assurance and program development measures to ensure the program performance remains of a high quality and reflective of best practice in therapeutic care.
Requirements:
- An appropriate tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in a leadership role in the OOHC sector.
- Demonstrated knowledge of trauma, attachment and neurobiology frameworks and theories.
- Knowledge of and expertise in using a range of contemporary youth engagement methodologies to support positive behaviour change for young people with complex needs.
- Demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively including the writing of monthly reports, convene steering group meetings and liaise with funders.
- Demonstrated ability to work flexibly and responsively in a dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively, maintain effective relationships and partnerships, with key external partners and the capacity to negotiate and liaise with individuals/ organisations who make up the network of support around young people, including their families, carers, community supports, schools, Department of Communities, etc.
