Job Title: Mental Health Support Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate mental health support professional to join our team on a short-term basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct counselling support and intervention services for individual students and groups identified as at-risk and/or experiencing mild to moderate mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality support services, including direct counselling, applying sound theoretical knowledge and practical expertise.
  • Plan and implement evidence-based intervention strategies for students with complex needs, collaborating with families, other professionals, and agencies when necessary, and managing associated risks.
  • Liaise with external service providers where necessary to provide additional support to students.
  • Work collaboratively to contribute to policies and operational practices that guide the work of others, including school wellbeing staff and teachers.
  • Provide leadership and professional learning to others, such as teachers and wellbeing staff, to build capacity and improve student outcomes.
  • Maintain professional competence through ongoing professional development and attend relevant activities throughout the year.
  • Comply with relevant policies and legislative requirements in relation to student health information privacy.
