Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Data Analytics Manager to spearhead our analytics team in Melbourne. This strategic growth appointment will establish the local presence and capability to support our rapidly expanding analytics division.

The successful candidate will be responsible for translating business problems into actionable data projects, delivering high-quality solutions, and shaping our analytics footprint in Victoria. They will work closely with internal stakeholders and external clients to build strong relationships and drive team growth.

This role requires an intellectually curious individual with a 'data-centric' mindset, possessing strong critical thinking skills, who can tailor their message to resonate with diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish the Melbourne analytics team, building local relationships and pipeline to accelerate team growth
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to understand business requirements and translate them into scoped analytics projects
  • Identify data sources, gather relevant information, and perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT)
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to uncover patterns, trends, and anomalies that inform decision-making
  • Develop and maintain data models, dashboards, and reports using tools such as Power BI, SQL, Python, Databricks, and Alteryx
  • Lead Agile delivery cadences and manage work in Azure DevOps, including code reviews and QA checks
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on data findings and present clear narratives for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Mentor and coach junior analysts as the Melbourne team scales
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Significant experience as a Data Analyst or Analytics Consultant, preferably in a professional services environment
  • Strong technical skills in SQL and Python, with experience across Databricks/Spark and Power BI; familiarity with Alteryx is a plus
  • Demonstrated delivery leadership using Agile ways of working and Azure DevOps
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams
  • Proven ability to lead projects and mentor team members
