Web Specialist Job Description

This is a key role within our Communications & Engagement team, responsible for managing and maintaining the online presence of 80 schools.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams to develop, design and implement new web pages and structures as necessary. They will also be responsible for creating and refining web content, ensuring user-friendly website designs and optimal digital experiences.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Managing multiple websites, ensuring content is up-to-date, user-friendly and consistent with brand guidelines
  • Collaborating with internal teams to develop and design new web pages and structures
  • Developing and supporting content creation and review, ensuring websites align with strategic goals and enhance user engagement
  • Translating requirements into website wireframes and creating impactful user experiences
  • Staying current in industry trends, website structure, content and design strategy, emerging technologies and digital marketing best practices
  • Developing and implementing SEO strategies, website policies, and standards
  • Utilising performance monitoring and analysis to provide advice and recommendations for content optimisation and improvements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Web Design, Digital Marketing or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in a website management or digital content role
  • Proficiency in CMS platforms, and an understanding of HTML/CSS basics
  • Strong knowledge of SEO principles and web analytics tools
  • Experience with design tools to create web assets and wireframes
  • Basic understanding of JavaScript and/or web hosting environments
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams
  • Strong communication and project management skills, with experience managing stakeholders
