Job Opportunity

This is a permanent, site-based role for an experienced health and safety professional to lead environmental functions for a growing commercial business based in Cairns.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years of experience in HSE management, ideally in commercial construction, and strong knowledge of Queensland HSE legislation and industry standards. They will also possess excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the HSE function and provide guidance to project teams.
  • Develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with Queensland HSE legislation and company standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments, audits, inspections, and investigations.
  • Monitor HSE performance and implement improvement initiatives.
  • Deliver HSE training and foster a positive safety culture across the business.
  • Support incident management and reporting processes.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in HSE, Engineering, or related field; Cert IV WHS minimum.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
