Job Description

The NSW Health Department is seeking a qualified Social Worker to join its team at John Hunter Children's Hospital.

About the Role

This position involves providing professional social work services to young people up to the age of 24 and their family/carers to ensure optimal health outcomes. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic team environment, delivering high-quality youth health care and specialist support and advice to the emergency department and primary treating team for young people who present to and are admitted to the hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional social work services to young people and their families/carers.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that promote best practice in social work.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • At least 3 years full-time equivalent experience working as a social worker.
  • Eligible to drive in NSW and the ability and willingness to travel for work purposes.
