Job Title: Strategic Innovation Manager

We are seeking an experienced and innovative professional to lead the translation of groundbreaking research into commercially viable propositions. The successful candidate will work closely with academic inventors, fostering collaborative relationships to drive impact.

Key Responsibilities and Objectives:
  • Foster strong partnerships with academic inventors, colleagues, and stakeholders to identify and develop commercially viable research opportunities.
  • Manage a portfolio of commercial projects, prioritizing tasks, tracking progress, and reporting outcomes.
  • Critically assess technology, market need, value proposition, competitive landscape, and market opportunity to inform strategic decisions.
  • Lead market research and commercial due diligence to ensure market fit and IP protection.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Higher degree in science & engineering or equivalent.
  • Proven scientific and commercial experience within the science & engineering sector.
  • Curiosity and knowledge of innovative technology developments and market trends in the science & engineering sector.
  • Analytical thinking, able to identify commercial potential and judge impact.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deliver objectives, and meet targets within agreed timelines.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
